Belkyra fat loss injection

Belkyraâ„¢

Lipolysis Fat Injections

WHAT IS BELKYRA™?

Belkyra™ is an injectable compound made of Deoxycholic Acid. Belkyra™ is approved by Health Canada the submental region (aka the double chin). This product targets and eliminates fat cells to improve the appearance of fullness in the area under the chin.

HOW DOES BELKYRA™ WORK?

Belkyra™ destroys fat cells when injected into the area under your chin, known as the submental region. Your chin profile gradually improves as the result of multiple Belkyra™ treatment sessions customized by nurse Kali. Re-treatment is not expected once your desired results are achieved. Once Belkyra™ is injected into the fat below your chin, it causes lipids inside the fats cells dissolve resulting in fat cell breakdown.  Belkyra™ targets fat cells only so that it will affect your muscles or skin tissue. Your treated fat cells are gradually eliminated from your body by the liver through the lymphatic system.

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING MY BELKYRA™ TREATMENT?

During your Belkyra™ treatment you may feel a burning sensation as the product is injected. Ice is applied prior and immediately following each injection session to reduce your discomfort.

WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER MY TREATMENT?

Patients can resume most regular activities immediately.  Your chin profile gradually improves as the result of multiple Belkyra™ treatment sessions as customized during your initial consultation.  Most patients treated with Belkyra™ experience a noticeable improvement to their chin profile in 2-6 treatments.

HOW LONG WILL MY RESULTS LAST?

Most patients experience a permanent reduction in submental fat, but keep it mind it is important to maintain a stable weight to prevent any fat cell remaining from expanding.

WHAT ARE THE SIDE EFFECTS OF BELKYRA™?

The most common side effects are swelling, minor bruising, and numbness to the area following the procedure. Nurse Kali will review all the rare potential side effects at your complimentary initial consultation.
