Micro-needling With PRP Post-Treatment Instructions

What do avoid after your PRP Vampire Facial

  • Allow the PRP to remain on your skin for at least 4 hours following your microneedling and PRP treatment.

  • You may rinse your face with lukewarm water and but be sure to avoid using any cleansers with that could irritate your skin.

  • You may experience some discomfort which should settle within 24 hours. If you continue to feel pain, patients can take Acetaminophen as directed on the label.

  • For the first 24-48 hours (or longer), you can expect redness, bruising, and swelling. Your skin may also look and feel raw at first, but rest assured the redness will gradually decrease and start to look like a sunburn.

  • Do not use any makeup or exfoliating agents on your skin for at least 72 hours following your treatment.

  • Avoid Retinol, topical Vitamin A, and tretinoin 10-14 days after your treatment.

  • Limit exposure to sun and heat for the next 3-5 days (or longer) while your skin is healing. Other activities that heat your skin include tanning beds, steam rooms, or saunas.

  • Apply a broad-spectrum UVA/UVB, SPF 25 or greater sunscreen to your daily skincare routine to prevent post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. You will need to re-apply this every 2.5-3 hours while your skin is healing. 

  • Avoid smoking for 3 days after your treatment.

  • Avoid facials, laser treatments or active skincare ingredients such as retinol and vitamin c that may cause damage or peeling for two weeks following your treatment.

  • You may continue to notice improvement in your skin for 6 months or longer after your vampire facial treatment. The effects from your vampire facial treatment may last you as long as 10-12 months. Patients will notice a rejuvenated glow, a decrease in pigmentation & discoloration, and scars will start to diminish.
