Facial PRP Pre-Treatment Instructions
What do know before your Platelet Rich Plasma appointment
Do not consume alcoholic beverages at least 24 hours prior to your Facial PRP treatment as alcohol may thin your blood and increase your risk of bruising.
Avoid anti-inflammatory and blood thinning medications and supplements if possible for 2 weeks before your treatment. Medications and supplements such as NSAIDs like Advil® (Ibuprofen), aspirin, vitamin E, ginkgo biloba, ginseng, St. John’s Wort, Omega 3/Fish Oil, and Turmeric supplements. These all have a blood thinning effect and can increase your risk of bruising and swelling after your Facial PRP injections.
For a least 3 days prior to your treatment you should avoid or at least minimize smoking.
The day before your treatment, drink extra water.
If applicable shave your facial hair at least 24 hours before your treatment.
Avoid fatty foods at least 8 hours before your blood is drawn for the best quality of plasma. Fatty foods meaning saturated fats specifically.
The day of your treatment, it is best to eat a healthy meal prior and drink plenty of water.
