PRP Hair Restoration Pre-Treatment Instructions
What to know before you PRP injection for hair loss
Do not consume alcoholic beverages at least 24 hours prior to your PRP Hair Restoration treatment as alcohol may thin the blood and increase your risk of bruising.
Avoid anti-inflammatory and blood thinning medications and supplements if possible for 2 weeks before your treatment. Medications and supplements such as NSAIDs like Advil® (Ibuprofen), aspirin, vitamin E, ginkgo biloba, ginseng, St. John’s Wort, Omega 3/Fish Oil, and Turmeric supplements. These all have a blood thinning effect and can increase your risk of bruising and swelling after your injections.
Avoid or at least minimize smoking three days prior to your PRP Hair Restoration treatment.
The day before your treatment, drink extra water.
Avoid fatty foods at least 8 hours before your blood is drawn for the best quality of plasma. Fatty foods meaning saturated fats specifically.
PLATELET RICH PLASMA (PRP) HAIR RESTORATION TREATMENT DAY
