Post-Treatment Guidance After Neuromodulator Injections
After receiving a neuromodulator injection (such as botulinum toxin) with Touch of Beauty, it’s important to follow up-to-date guidance that supports your comfort and safety as part of your overall care plan. Your nurse will also review after-care instructions at the time of treatment.

Immediate Post-Treatment Practices
-
Avoid manipulating the treated area — refrain from rubbing, massaging, or applying pressure to the injection sites for several hours. This helps support the treatment as it settles into the targeted muscles.
-
Stay upright for a few hours immediately after treatment. Remaining upright can be helpful in the initial period post-injection.
Activities and Exercise
-
Moderate physical activity: For the remainder of the day, light activities such as normal daily movement are generally acceptable, but vigorous exercise or heavy lifting on the same day may be limited on a case-by-case basis. Your nurse will discuss specific guidance during your appointment.
Skin and External Treatments
-
Avoid pressure or friction: Activities that involve direct pressure on the treated area — such as facial massages, facials, or tight headwear — may be postponed for a short period to avoid altering the positioning of the injections.
-
Temperature considerations: High heat environments such as saunas, steam rooms, or hot tubs may be postponed for a time after treatment. Your clinician will advise based on your personal treatment plan.
Gentle Care
-
Face washing: You may cleanse your face as usual using gentle motions and lukewarm water, avoiding excessive pressure or scrubbing directly at injection sites immediately after your appointment.
-
Make-up: If you choose to apply makeup, be gentle and avoid pressure in the treated areas for the first few hours as advised by your clinician.
Individual Responses & Expectations
Everyone’s response to neuromodulator injections varies. Some individuals may notice changes gradually over several days. Full assessment of how your body responds and whether any adjustments are appropriate is best discussed during follow-up care or subsequent visits.

When to Seek Support
If you notice any concerns or unexpected symptoms following your treatment, please contact the clinic. Your nurse is available to answer questions and support your care.
Clinical Context & Safety
Neuromodulator injections are a controlled clinical act that should be provided by a regulated health professional with proper authorization and under medical direction. As a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN), your clinician practices within the regulatory framework established by the College of Nurses of Ontario, ensuring safe, evidence-informed care for all patients.
