Glowing female face after microneedling treatment

Microneedling

Microneedling is a clinical skin treatment service offered at Touch of Beauty by Kali Tocco, Registered Practical Nurse (RPN), under appropriate medical direction.

This treatment involves creating controlled microchannels in the skin using a sterile microneedling device as part of an individualized treatment plan.

A comprehensive consultation is required to determine whether microneedling is appropriate
based on your skin characteristics, health history, and individual goals.

What This Treatment Involves
Microneedling uses a device equipped with fine, sterile needles to create controlled microchannels in the skin. The procedure is performed by Kali Tocco, Registered Practical Nurse (RPN), using appropriate infection-prevention practices and a sterile, single-use microneedling cartridge.

Topical numbing may be offered when indicated to support comfort during the procedure.
Treatment protocols are selected based on professional assessment and your individualized care
plan.

Consultation & Assessment
Every microneedling treatment begins with a comprehensive consultation, which includes:
• Review of your medical history and current medications
• Assessment of your skin characteristics and concerns
• Discussion of appropriate treatment options and alternatives
• Explanation of potential risks, expected experiences, and after-care guidance

This process supports informed decision-making and helps determine whether microneedling is appropriate based on your individual assessment, health history and skin concerns.

During the Treatment

If microneedling is included in your care plan, the treatment area will be cleansed and prepared prior to treatment, and a sterile, single-use microneedling cartridge will be used. The procedure typically involves:

1. Preparing and cleansing the treatment area
2. Application of topical numbing when appropriate
3. Performing microneedling according to your individualized plan

Treatment duration may vary depending on the areas assessed and clinical considerations.

Aftercare & What to Expect

Following microneedling, temporary treatment-area responses may include redness, tenderness or sensitivity, swelling, warmth, tightness, dryness or mild flaking. The type, intensity and duration of these responses can vary between individuals.

Your nurse will provide individualized aftercare instructions, including guidance on skin care, expected treatment-area responses and when to contact the clinic with questions or concerns.

Responses to microneedling vary between individuals. Follow-up appointments may be recommended to review how your skin is responding and to determine whether additional sessions are appropriate for your care plan.

Safety & Eligibility
Microneedling is not suitable for everyone. Certain medical conditions, active skin concerns, medications, pregnancy, or skin sensitivities may affect eligibility.

As with all clinical procedures, microneedling carries potential risks. These considerations will
be reviewed during your consultation so you can make an informed decision.
