Aftercare Following Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Treatment

After your PRP session, your nurse will provide individualized after-care instructions. General
guidance may include:

Immediate After-Care
Gentle cleansing of treated areas
Avoiding touching, rubbing, or picking at treatment sites


Activity & Environment
Avoid vigorous exercise on the day of treatment unless otherwise directed
Avoid heat exposure such as saunas, steam rooms, and prolonged sun exposure


Typical Responses

Temporary responses may include:

  • Redness

  • Tenderness or sensitivity

  • Swelling

  • Bruising

The type, intensity and duration of these responses can vary between individuals.

 

When to Contact the Clinic

Contact the clinic if you experience:

  • Increasing redness, warmth, swelling or pain

  • Signs of infection, including drainage from a treatment site

  • Significant or worsening discomfort

  • Skin changes that are severe, persistent or unexpected

  • Any other symptoms that concern you or differ from what was discussed during your appointment

 

If you are unsure whether a symptom is expected following your treatment, please contact the clinic for guidance.
