Avoid anti-inflammatory and blood thinning medications & supplements for 2 weeks before your PRP facial treatment. Medications and supplements such as NSAIDs like Ibuprofen (Advil®), Naproxen (Aleve®), (Aspirin®), vitamin E, ginkgo biloba, ginseng, St. John’s Wort, Omega 3/Fish Oil, and Turmeric supplements. These all have a blood thinning effect and can increase your risk of bruising and swelling from your PRP facial treatment.

Avoid smoking 3 days prior to your PRP facial treatment.

Some patients find Arnica Montana tablets helpful to take for 3-5 days before and after PRP facial treatment to minimize bruising. Food containing bromelain, such as pineapple, may also help minimize bruising & swelling when consumed for 5-7 days before and after treatment.

Avoid fatty foods at least 8 hours before your blood is drawn for the best quality of plasma. Fatty foods meaning saturated fats specifically.
