PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) – Face & Scalp
PRP (platelet-rich plasma) treatment is a clinical service offered at Touch of Beauty by Kali
Tocco, Registered Practical Nurse (RPN), under appropriate medical direction. This treatment
involves the use of platelet-rich plasma derived from your own blood and applied to the skin of
the face and/or scalp as part of a personalized care plan.
A comprehensive consultation is required to determine whether PRP treatment is appropriate
based on your skin or scalp characteristics, health history, and individual goals.
What This Treatment Involves
PRP treatment involves collecting a small sample of your blood, which is processed using a
centrifuge to isolate the platelet-rich plasma component. The PRP is then applied to the facial
skin and/or scalp according to a clinically assessed plan.
The procedure is performed in a clinical environment using sterile technique by a trained nurse.
Treatment areas and protocols are selected based on professional assessment and your
individualized care plan.

Consultation & Assessment
Every PRP treatment begins with a comprehensive consultation, which includes:
Review of your medical history and current medications
Assessment of facial skin and/or scalp characteristics and concerns
Discussion of appropriate treatment options and alternatives
Explanation of potential risks, expected experiences, and after-care guidance
This process supports informed decision-making and ensures that any treatment offered is
suitable and safe.

During the Treatment
If PRP treatment is included in your care plan, it will be performed in a clinical setting using
sterile technique. The procedure typically involves:
Preparing and cleansing the treatment area(s)
Collecting and processing a small blood sample
Applying PRP to the face and/or scalp according to your individualized plan
Treatment duration may vary depending on the areas assessed and clinical considerations.
Aftercare & What to Expect
Following PRP treatment, you may experience temporary responses such as mild redness,
tenderness, sensitivity, or slight swelling at the treatment site(s). These responses are common
and typically resolve within a short period.
Your nurse will provide personalized after-care instructions to support comfort, recovery, and
safety following your appointment.
Individual responses to PRP treatment vary. Follow-up appointments may be recommended to
assess how your skin or scalp is responding and to determine whether additional sessions are
appropriate for your care plan.

Safety & Eligibility
PRP treatment is not suitable for everyone. Certain medical conditions, medications, blood
disorders, pregnancy, active skin or scalp conditions, or other health considerations may affect
eligibility.

As with all clinical procedures, PRP treatment carries potential risks. These considerations will
be reviewed during your consultation so you can make an informed decision.
